Eviction move-out checklist

Make sure the possession order or lockout is final before entering. Follow your attorney and the sheriff
Take photos and video of every room before anything is moved
Write down valuables and papers. Confirm with your attorney how belongings left behind must be handled before anything is removed
Shut off or check utilities. Look for leaks and spoiled food
Remove belongings, trash and furniture
Clean out the fridge, cabinets and closets
Change the locks and take back keys and fobs
Take after photos and start the turnover checklist

Mark curbs, hydrants, speed bumps and islands with stakes before the ground freezes
Decide which areas get cleared first: fire lanes, ADA routes, office, mailboxes
Agree on when crews come out (e.g. 2 inches) and the response window
Stock ice melt that is safe for your concrete and pets
Agree where snow gets piled so it doesn’t block parking or drains
Share an after-hours contact list with your vendor
Keep a log of every service with time and photos, for slip-and-fall claims
