OUR STEPS
Making Sure the job is done right.
Turn off and disconnect the dryer
Before starting the cleaning process, ensure the dryer is turned off and unplugged from the electrical outlet. If you have a gas dryer, turn off the gas supply as well. This step is crucial for your safety during the cleaning process.
Remove the Lint Trap and Clean It
Take out the lint trap from the dryer and use a vacuum with a hose attachment to remove the lint and debris. Ensure the lint trap is thoroughly cleaned before reinserting it.
Access the Dryer Vent
Move the dryer away from the wall to access the vent duct connected to the back of the dryer. Disconnect the vent duct carefully, making sure not to damage it. If necessary, use a screwdriver to loosen any clamps securing the vent duct.
Vacuum Inside the Dryer and Vent Duct
Use a vacuum with a long hose attachment to clean the inside of the dryer where the vent connects. Insert the vacuum hose into the vent duct and remove as much lint and debris as possible. This step helps to prevent mess and reduces cleanup time.
Use a Dryer Vent Cleaning Brush or Kit
Insert a dryer vent cleaning brush or a specialized vent cleaning kit into the vent duct. Gently push and pull the brush through the duct to dislodge any remaining lint and debris. For thorough cleaning, you may use a high-pressure air hose to blow out stubborn debris, directing the airflow towards the outside vent.
Reassemble and Test the Dryer
Once the vent duct is clean, reconnect it securely to the dryer and the wall vent. Push the dryer back into its original position, ensuring the vent duct is not kinked or crushed. Plug the dryer back in, turn on the gas supply if applicable, and test the dryer to ensure it is working efficiently and that the airflow is unobstructed.
